What to Know About the Zach Wilson Trade
Zach Wilson's NFL journey will continue in Denver. The New York Jets have traded the former No. 2 overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft to the Denver Broncos.
The Jets selected Wilson with the hope that he would become their franchise quarterback. However, he struggled to live up to expectations, throwing for just 4,219 yards with 28 touchdowns and 19 interceptions in two seasons.
The Broncos, meanwhile, are in need of a quarterback after Russell Wilson suffered a season-ending injury. They are hoping that Zach Wilson can be the long-term answer at the position.
The Jets are receiving a 2024 second-round pick and a 2025 third-round pick in return for Wilson. The Broncos are also getting a conditional 2024 fifth-round pick that could become a fourth-rounder if Wilson plays 70% of the snaps in 2024.
This trade represents a fresh start for both Wilson and the Jets. Wilson will have a chance to prove himself in a new system, while the Jets can move on from a disappointing draft pick.
