Three Major Us Airlines Grounded Due To Communication Issue

United Airlines Outage Causes Flight Delays Day After FAA Outage

Three Major US Airlines Grounded Due to Communication Issue

United Airlines reports 3rd party software outage after FAA outage

United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and American Airlines were among the major US airlines that grounded all flights Friday morning due to a communication issue, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

United Airlines said in a statement Friday that all aircraft were grounded while it worked to fix a third party software outage after the FAA's outage. The FAA said it was working to resolve the issue, which was affecting flight operations nationwide.

The outage comes one day after a major FAA outage that grounded all flights in the United States. The FAA said that outage was caused by a problem with its Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) system, which provides pilots with safety information. The FAA said it was working to resolve the issue and flights were beginning to resume.
